"A father gave his son a gift, but the son broke the gift. The gift was still beautiful and useful, but the gift could now cut and even kill the child if the child wanted it too. The gift could be used to cut and kill the child's friends. The father hoped that by teaching the child how to use the gift, even though it was broken, the child would learn how to use it to not cut himself or anyone else. But the child now had a spirit of evil in him. He loved to see how the gift could cut the other children. The father disciplined the child, but the child kept cutting his friends with the gift. The child no longer could see the beauty that was still in the gift and the child did not want to follow the father's rules about the gift to keep him and the other children safe. The father grieved for his child because no matter how much he disciplined the child, the child refused to use the gift to do anything but hurt. Then a new son was born to the father. The father gave his new son this broken, but beautiful, gift. This son followed the father's rules and he never used the gift to cut or kill other children. One day, the older son used the gift to kill the younger son. The younger son had stepped in between the older son and the other children. And when he did so, the gift was changed. It could still cut, but now it could heal. The younger son's death had changed the gift into something that could heal and unite the other children. The older son still tries to cut with the gift, but despite his best efforts, the gift is now better at healing than hurting."
